Alberta Ballet 50th Anniversary Video

Happy Anniversary to The Alberta Ballet! I worked as a dresser for the ballet when they performed at the University of Lethbridge, in 1983. I was thrilled to work professionally with the company in 1994, as Tour Mistress. It's a joy to see the company so strong today, continuing on it's amazing path ... enjoy
So, if the Oscar Awards show happens live ....when does the crew get to rehearse? Tune in to this video ...

Trousers March through Time

So, I was watching an episode of the old TV series Mission Impossible when I noticed the suit trouser length; the fashionable or period length of trousers worn in the 60s. ... And you know, they are almost the same length as suit trousers worn today, in 2017.
Last year, I wrote another blog titled Summer Film Checklist; about supplies, kits and clothing a costumer should include when working outdoors on a film. It’s good to check your kit at least once a year; to inventory the contents, replenish containers of low supplies and to add new items.  All my original urgings of bringing warm, comfortable clothing, extra clothing, and sun and safety gear still apply, but this year, I’d like to talk about a threat that is common to everyone who works outside during the spring, summer and autumn months - Lyme Disease. Lyme disease is an inflammatory disease characterized by flu-like symptoms, caused by bacteria that is transmitted by ticks.
Here's a great little project for converting a long coat into a pirate coat. This would also be a great navy officer coat, or even a base for some sweet steampunk fashion.
